Aim of the Kitchen Porter role

To take ownership of cleaning cutlery, crockery, kitchen utensils to the required standard and to carry out any cleaning duties.

Responsibilities of the Kitchen Porter

  • Be confident in washing all plates, cutlery and utensils and re-stocking in the correct areas and to a high standard
  • Stack plates in larder, pass and fish section to make easily accessible for the chefs
  • Remove all rubbish and bottles from plate wash area to skip and return trolley for bottles
  • Support the chefs with washing all pots and pans in the correct and timely manner
  • Take pride in ensuring the work space is left clean and tidy
  • Be fully aware of all hygiene control and chemicals used in the workplace
