Part of Iconic Hotels & Resorts, The Lensbury is located on the Banks of the River Thames at Teddington and is home to an exclusive leisure club, a 155 bedroom hotel, meeting and events space, restaurant and bar, Spa and 25 acres of gardens and grounds.

The Role

Reporting to the Grounds & Gardens Manager/Head Gardener, you will be supporting the team in the maintenance and upkeep of The Lensbury’s Grounds and Gardens. This role is for 20 hours per week over either 4 or 5 days, must include Mondays and Fridays.

Key Responsibilities

  • Litter picking and bin emptying around the whole of The Lensbury site
  • Ensure all entrances, exits, and fire escapes are accessible and clear of leaves, grass, moss, etc
  • Ensure all hard surfaces, patios, pathways, carpark gullies are correctly maintained, weeded and moss free and all external areas are kept clean, tidy, and always well presented
  • Undertake leaf blowing, clearance of all carparks, pathways etc.
  • Ensure that the tennis court surrounds are kept leaf, litter & debris free and well presented at all times
  • Edging of pathways
  • Undertake gritting and snow clearing as required.
  • Clean and maintain the outdoor furniture
  • Ensure all Health and safety procedures and policies are always adhered to.

What we’re looking for

To be successful in this role, you must possess the following qualifications, attitude, behaviours, skills, and values:

  • Good communicator with a can-do attitude, and the ability to work unsupervised/independently or as part of the wider team when required.
  • Experience using hand tools and operating handheld machinery (blowers, strimmers etc) - (desirable but not essential as training can be provided).
  • Driving licence (preferred).
  • Some flexibility to work outside of standard hours for special events etc.
