The Role
As a qualified Crèche Assistant, you will be responsible for creating a safe, welcoming and engaging setting for our youngest members. This includes supervising play, supporting children’s wellbeing, maintaining high standards of care, and ensuring all safeguarding and health & safety procedures are followed. This role is to work 08:45-12:45 on Saturdays and Sundays.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure a safe environment is provided for all Crèche users, offering appropriate social, creative, and fun activities.
- Assist with basic admin tasks such as registers and equipment checks.
- Follow all policies, safeguarding procedures, and behaviour management guidelines.
- Maintain confidentiality in line with safeguarding and Data Protection regulations.
- Report any welfare concerns promptly and sensitively.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and hazard-free environment.
- Be fully trained and prepared for emergency and evacuation procedures.
- Deliver excellent customer service at all times.
- Communicate professionally and warmly with parents, guardians, and colleagues.
What we’re looking for
To be successful in this role, you must possess the following qualifications, attitude, behaviours, skills, and values:
- Minimum Level 2 Childcare qualification required (Level 3 desirable)
- Previous experience in a similar environment
- A genuine passion for creating great experiences for children and their families
- A friendly, calm and approachable nature, with the ability to act quickly and effectively
- Paediatric First Aid (or willingness to complete)
- Safeguarding training (or willingness to complete)
