This is a full-time, on-site role based in Great Dunmow for an Event Executive. To source suitable venues, research, write and operate profitable projects offering support and focus on delivering the highest level of event at all times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enquiry Process – to understand and accurately detail the clients brief and respond to deadlines.
  • Research Process – identify a list of suitable venues to contact and provide options to discuss with the client; ensure that you are always proposing the most suitable venues.
  • Liaise and negotiate with venues and suppliers on the phone, in person or over email.
  • Report to line manager daily with activity and updates on progress.
  • Negotiate rates and terms proposing professional and branded proposals and checking the contract for commission and terms etc.
  • Post event follow up – ensure that feedback on the venue is obtained and if the event is taking place next year/any future plans to book events.
  • Maximise commission opportunities at all times.

Developing Relationships

  • Attend supplier exhibitions where appropriate.
  • Build and grow Chew’s existing client relationships.
  • Attend Chew Events client events where appropriate.
  • Provide onsite event support for client events where appropriate.
  • Attend client meetings or presentations where appropriate.
  • Follow up all events that have taken place on a weekly basis to secure repeat business.
  • Attend various FAM trips to develop knowledge both in the UK and internationally.
  • Keep abreast of industry news and trends, any key locations to focus on or avoid, any new openings etc.

Skills and Personal Qualities

  • Previous venue finding and events industry experience preferred.
  • Ensure that duties are carried out in the most professional manner.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Have the ability to self-manage work load and time effectively.
  • Able to use Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel etc.
  • Have a passion and drive for the industry with an enthusiastic attitude.
  • Happy and confident to liaise on the phone and face to face with both suppliers and clients.
  • Have acute attention to detail.
  • Have a creative flare.
  • Ensure any issues that should be escalated are communicated to the appropriate person.
  • Be customer focused whilst considering business implications to Chew Events.
  • Abide by company standards in terms of behaviour and dress.
