Chew Valley Trees are looking for a Horticultural Advisor to join the nursery office team, helping customers choose the right trees for their space and ensuring the sales process goes smoothly.
Main duties will include:
- Welcoming customers to the nursery and helping them find their way around
- Advising on suitable trees and shrubs both in person and over email and the phone
- Processing sales and arranging deliveries
- Helping customers load purchases into vehicles
- Answering phone and online queries
- Creating quotes and liaising with customers
You will need to be computer literate to use our stock and sales system. Previous experience in horticulture is ideal as is a strong interest in plants and gardening. The ideal candidate might be someone with RHS training or who has worked as a gardener or in garden design; an enthusiastic and helpful attitude is essential.
Full training on the sales system will be given, plus guidance on the features of the nursery stock (e.g. suitability for small gardens, best autumn colour, copes with wind etc). You will be expected to take an active role in learning about the trees and shrubs within the nursery in order to pass on your wisdom to our customers!
For the right person, this is an opportunity to work with specialist growers, learning about the nursery business and the trees and shrubs we grow. Our team includes experts who will be pleased to pass on their knowledge to those with a desire to learn.
We are situated in Chew Valley, close to Bristol. Your own transport will be needed to get to the nursery.
Working hours: 4 or 5 Days per week including every Saturday. (Days will change in the summer as we are closed on Saturdays in July and August)
