The role involves leading and supervising mechanical activity on aircraft and aircraft components, ensuring all maintenance is completed safely, compliantly and to approved technical standards. Responsibilities include task delegation, supervision, fault diagnosis and delivery performance, while providing leadership and development support to your team.

Day-to-day, you will be:

  • Leading and supervising mechanical maintenance activities on aircraft and aircraft components.
  • Delegating tasks, authorising work and ensuring airworthiness standards are maintained.
  • Carrying out and overseeing fault diagnosis, repairs, inspections and component changes.
  • Monitoring progress against delivery targets and escalating issues where required.
  • Providing technical guidance, leadership and people management to the mechanical team.
  • Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with approved technical information, safety requirements and regulatory procedures.

This is a full-time, permanent, onsite role, working a 36-hour early shift pattern.

Essential experience includes:

  • Demonstrated capability supervising mechanical maintenance within an aviation environment.
  • Strong technical competence in aircraft maintenance and fault diagnosis.
  • Proven ability to lead, guide and supervise a team within a regulated maintenance setting.
  • Sound understanding of aviation safety standards, approved maintenance procedures and quality requirements.
  • Evidence of currency and recency through a maintained logbook.

Qualifications include:

  • Completion of an engineering apprenticeship, ideally in aeronautical engineering or a military equivalent.
  • Recognised qualification such as City & Guilds 2675 or 2661 in Aeronautical Engineering and Maintenance, or equivalent.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.
