Job Description

Chevron is accepting online applications for the position Oil Trading Operator through November 3rd at 11:59 p.m.
The Oil Trading Operator position s support efficient execution of trading activity, seeking to maximize value capture and to minimize earnings erosion . We are looking for highly motivated individuals with relevant business acumen and strong problem-solving skills that are natural team players .
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Managing all operational aspects related to the purchase and sale of petroleum products.

  • Serving as an integral member of the trading desk and collaborating closely with traders.

  • Coordinating with natural work team to address operational issues, including minimizing demurrage , dead freight, and secondary costs.

  • Liaising with counterparts to ensure compliance with documentation and cargo requirements.

  • Overseeing adherence to contractual obligations from an operational perspective.

  • Collaborating with Chevron's shipping department on vetting, chartering, voyage management, and demurrage matters.

  • Appointing inspectors for quantity and quality assessments and coordinating with Chevron's Loss Control department regarding claims or issues.

  • Communicating with Chevron's credit department.

  • Entering required cargo data into trading systems.

  • Working with the finance department to resolve queries concerning operational costs and revenues.

  • Identifying process enhancements and commercial opportunities to maximize Chevron value.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Experience scheduling Chevron commodities .

  • Microsoft Excel skills

  • Excellent communication skills .

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills .

  • Team player and ability to work in fast- paced environments .

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience scheduling Chevron commodities in Right Angle .

  • Solid understanding of trading business drivers .

  • Understanding of global petroleum flows .

  • Understanding of refining value chain, trading principles, and risk control .
