About the role of a VRS Fencer

A VRS (Vehicle Restraint Systems) Fencer is a skilled operative responsible for installing safety barriers along roads and motorways to protect drivers and pedestrians. These barriers include steel crash barriers, concrete systems, and parapets, all designed to prevent vehicles from leaving the carriageway during accidents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installing permanent, temporary, or parapet vehicle restraint systems to industry standards
  • Reading site plans and setting out lines and levels
  • Handling and securing fencing materials and components
  • Operating hand and power tools safely
  • Assisting with groundwork and foundation preparation
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations

Requirements:

  • CSCS card (preferred)
  • Reliable and take pride in delivering great service.
  • Right to work in the UK unsponsored
  • Team players with a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence (with 6 points or fewer)
  • Flexible to work days, nights and weekends when required
  • Able to pass a drug & alcohol test and a safety-critical medical (it\'s a physical job!).
