What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Supporting onboarding, contracts, inductions, and employee lifecycle admin
  • Maintaining accurate employee records and ensuring GDPR compliance
  • Managing the HR inbox and responding to queries
  • Assisting with Employee Relations casework and policy application
  • Helping maintain HR systems and supporting digital HR improvements
  • Drafting job adverts, screening applications, and arranging interviews
  • Supporting right-to-work checks and referencing
  • Helping coordinate apprenticeships, work placements, and early careers activity
  • Managing the careers inbox and updating recruitment records
  • Booking training, maintaining records, and supporting mandatory training
  • Assisting with digital learning platforms and new initiatives
  • Working with the Training team to ensure sector-specific compliance
  • Assisting with timesheet checks, data collation, and employee changes
  • Supporting communication with the payroll bureau
  • Learning how HR, payroll, and operational systems integrate

What We’re Looking For:

Essential:

  • A genuine interest in HR, people development, or business administration
  • UK driving licence
  • GCSEs in Maths and English at grade C/4 or above (or equivalent)
  • Strong organisation and attention to detail
  • Confident communication skills
  • Professionalism and respect for confidentiality
  • Willingness to learn, ask questions, and take initiative
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced operational environment
  • Ability to travel to depots when needed

Desirable:

  • Experience in admin or customer facing roles
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office or HR systems
  • Interest in Traffic Management, Construction, or Highways sectors
