About the role:
You are responsible for the efficient running of the depot. You will review the programme of works to ensure efficient use of depot resources and ensure that sufficient resources with the correct competencies are available to deliver the works. You are also responsible for managing health, safety and welfare of employees.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Operations Manager with the programming and delivery of works and ensuring correct level of resources.
- Follow approved accident and incident reporting process, complete paperwork and provide initial reports.
- Carry out accident investigation, take statements, collect evidence.
- Produce operational documents and drawings for various schemes as required (Method Statements, Risk Assessments, TM Layout drawings).
- Monitor TM subcontractor timesheets and invoices.
- Support the commercial team by maintaining accurate records of operations (plant and labour reports).
- Maintain vehicle records.
- Ensure the workforce understands what is required of them.
- Maintain and develop relationships with subcontractors and clients.
- Ensure timely delivery of toolbox talks, safety alerts & memos.
- Undertake site inspections & audits.
Qualifications:
- M6 qualified, M7 preferable.
- Knowledge of Chapter 8.
- Extensive experience in low speed traffic management.
- Must pass a safety critical worker medical.
- Full driving licence with no more than 6 points.
- Pass a drug and alcohol test.
- Positive “can-do” attitude.
- Adaptability and flexibility.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Demonstrate leadership qualities and experience leading a team in a comparable role.
- Proficient in use of PC and Microsoft Office suite.
- Excellent communicator and team worker with confidence to deliver presentations to the workforce.
