The Data Analyst is responsible for providing accurate, timely, and insightful analysis to support safe, efficient, and commercially successful delivery across the Low Speed business. The role transforms operational, commercial, and safety data into meaningful insight that supports decision‑making at depot, regional, and senior leadership levels. The successful candidate will ensure high standards of data quality, develop clear reporting tools, and identify trends and opportunities that improve performance, productivity, and customer satisfaction.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Health & Safety Insight
    • Analyse safety data, incidents, and near misses to identify trends and areas for improvement.
    • Ensure accuracy and integrity of safety‑related reporting.
    • Support audits, investigations, and compliance reviews with reliable data.
    • Provide insight that contributes to Chevron’s safety culture and proactive risk reduction.
  • Operational Performance & Reporting
    • Collect, clean, and validate operational data from systems such as Orion, Samsara, CRM platforms, and internal dashboards.
    • Produce daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports for contracts, depots, and regions.
    • Monitor KPIs including utilisation, productivity, SLA adherence, and job completion rates.
    • Build automated dashboards to support real‑time visibility of operational performance.
    • Support operational teams in understanding performance trends and improvement areas.
  • Commercial & Financial Analysis
    • Analyse cost, revenue, and margin data to support commercial decision‑making.
    • Track contract profitability and highlight variances or emerging risks.
    • Support forecasting, budgeting, and commercial reviews with accurate data models.
    • Provide insight into pricing, productivity, and resource allocation.
  • Customer Relationship Support
    • Provide accurate, timely data for customer reporting requirements.
    • Support service reviews with clear, data‑driven performance summaries.
    • Help Contracts Managers understand customer expectations through trend analysis.
    • Contribute to maintaining strong customer relationships through transparent reporting.
  • Business Development & Improvement
    • Identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and opportunities for operational improvement.
    • Provide analytical input into bids, tenders, and commercial proposals.
    • Support digital transformation, automation, and workflow optimisation projects.
    • Recommend improvements to reporting processes and data governance.

SCOPE OF THE JOB

The Data Analyst supports all Utilities contracts delivered by the depot or region and plays a key role in operational, commercial, and safety performance through high‑quality analysis and reporting.

KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS & SKILLS

Essential

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • High proficiency in Excel, Power BI, and data visualisation tools.
  • Ability to interpret complex datasets and communicate insights clearly.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑moving operational environment.
  • Experience in a data analysis, reporting, or business intelligence role.

  • Work closely with Senior Contracts Managers, Contracts Managers, Coordinators, and depot leadership.
  • Collaborate with Finance, IT, and Business Improvement teams.
  • Support operational teams in understanding and acting on performance data.

PROBLEM SOLVING & OPPORTUNITY IDENTIFICATION

Identify performance risks, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities through data analysis. Provide evidence‑based recommendations to improve operational and commercial performance. Support forecasting of sales volumes, resource requirements, and productivity trends. Drive continuous improvement through enhanced reporting and insight.

ACCOUNTABILITY

Accountable for the accuracy, integrity, and clarity of all reporting and analysis. Expected to provide reliable insight that supports safe, efficient, and commercially strong contract delivery. Responsible for advising operational and commercial leaders using data‑driven evidence.
