Job Description
Role: Fleet Performance Engineer
The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Fleet Performance Engineer to join an established airline engineering operation, taking responsibility for driving aircraft reliability and developing a proactive, data-led approach to preventative and predictive maintenance across an Embraer E190 fleet.
Sitting within the Maintenance Control function, this is a highly technical role combining aircraft reliability, data analysis and hands-on engineering knowledge.
You'll use aircraft performance and health-monitoring data to identify emerging technical issues before they impact the flying programme, translating your findings into effective maintenance actions.
You'll also act as a technical specialist for the E190 fleet, supporting Maintenance Control with complex troubleshooting, repetitive defects and aircraft technical issues when required.

What You'll Do
- Monitor aircraft performance and reliability data to identify emerging trends, repetitive defects and opportunities for preventative maintenance.
- Use multiple aircraft and engineering data sources to identify maintenance interventions outside of the scheduled maintenance programme that can improve fleet reliability and availability.
- Develop and issue Engineering Technical Requirements, work instructions and other technical instructions to Line and Base Maintenance teams.
- Identify and address repetitive, latent and active aircraft defects before they impact scheduled operations.
- Drive improvements in Technical Dispatch Reliability, supporting the achievement of operational and fleet reliability targets.
- Develop, maintain and present fleet performance, reliability and operational reports to demonstrate trends and the effectiveness of engineering interventions.
- Lead and support the development of predictive maintenance techniques across the E190 fleet.
- Act as a technical specialist for the fleet, providing guidance on complex troubleshooting and repetitive aircraft defects.
- Provide technical support to the Maintenance Control team and, where required, assist with ad-hoc operational cover.
- Work closely with Safety and Flight Operations teams to review flight-data conditional events.
- Interpret relevant flight data and determine appropriate engineering investigation or follow-up actions.
- Work collaboratively with Line Maintenance, Base Maintenance, Maintenance Control, Technical Services and other operational stakeholders to improve aircraft availability and performance.

- Flexibility to travel to engineering locations within the UK and Europe when required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain the appropriate airport airside security clearance/pass.
Experience & Qualifications
Essential
- UK CAA Part-66 B1/B2 Aircraft Maintenance Licence or an equivalent relevant engineering technical qualification.
- Strong practical understanding of aircraft maintenance, technical support and continuing airworthiness.
- Experience within an aircraft Technical Services, Technical Support, Reliability, Fleet Engineering or similar engineering function.
- Working knowledge of UK CAA/EASA Part-CAMO, Part-M and Part-145 requirements.
- Good understanding of aircraft certification, maintenance and continuing airworthiness requirements.
- Good understanding of the airline operational, regulatory and engineering environment.
Highly Desirable
- Embraer E190 type rating and/or significant technical experience with the
Embraer E-Jet family .
- Previous experience within an airline Technical Services or Fleet Engineering environment.
- Experience in aircraft reliability, performance monitoring or predictive maintenance.
- Experience using aircraft health-monitoring or prognostic systems.
- Experience manipulating and analysing engineering datasets using advanced Excel, SQL, coding or other data-analysis tools.
