Role: Stores Supervisor (Line)

Job Purpose

The Stores Supervisor – Line Maintenance is responsible for the operational control, compliance and performance of the Line Station Stores function. The role ensures that materials, tooling and equipment are controlled, traceable and available to support aircraft maintenance activities, while maintaining full compliance with Part 145 regulatory requirements and company procedures. The Stores Supervisor leads the day-to-day stores operation, manages personnel and workflow, and ensures timely and accurate goods receipt, inspection, dispatch and stock control in support of aircraft production priorities.

Job Accountabilities

  • Operational Control
    • Manage the daily operation of the Line Station Stores, ensuring efficient workflow and material availability.
    • Ensure goods receipt, inspection, booking and dispatch are completed within agreed service levels and regulatory standards.
    • Prioritise material movements in alignment with aircraft production requirements and operational demands.
    • Maintain effective communication with Line Station Management and Production teams to support aircraft release targets.
  • Regulatory & Compliance Responsibility
    • Ensure compliance with UK CAA / EASA Part 145 material control requirements.
    • Maintain appropriate storage conditions for serviceable, unserviceable and quarantine materials.
    • Ensure full traceability and documentation control of all incoming and outgoing parts.
    • Manage Dangerous Goods handling and shipping in accordance with applicable regulations.
    • Support internal and external audits and ensure corrective actions are implemented and sustained.
  • Inventory & Asset Control
    • Monitor stock levels, particularly consumables and expendables (C&E), ensuring availability without excessive holding.
    • Oversee tool control, calibration requirements and ground support equipment tracking.
    • Monitor shelf‑life control and preservation requirements.
    • Escalate stock discrepancies and inventory risks to the Supply Chain Manager.
  • People Leadership & Performance
    • Manage and supervise Stores and production procurement staff, including shift planning, absence cover and workload allocation.
    • Ensure appropriate training, competence and regulatory awareness within the Stores team.
    • Promote a safety‑first and compliance‑driven culture.
    • Support performance management and development of team members.
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Identify opportunities to improve workflow efficiency, stock accuracy and material availability.
    • Contribute to procedure updates in consultation with the Supply Chain Manager and Compliance.
    • Implement structured prioritisation frameworks to support operational effectiveness.
  • Health, Safety & FRMS
    • Ensure adherence to Health & Safety requirements within the stores environment.
    • Promote safety reporting and hazard identification.
    • Ensure compliance with Fatigue Risk Management System (FRMS) requirements where applicable.
  • Communication & Escalation
    • Provide regular updates to the Station Manager and Supply Chain Manager regarding material performance, risks and priorities.
    • Escalate AOG material risks or compliance concerns promptly.
    • Maintain effective liaison with Logistics, Procurement and Engineering teams.
  • General
    • Undertake any additional duties reasonably required in support of operational or regulatory needs.

Operating Environment

This role operates within a Line Maintenance environment supporting aircraft maintenance operations. Standard working hours are 08:30–17:00 Monday to Friday; however, flexibility is required to support operational demands, including shift cover, AOG events and peak workloads.

Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge

Qualification & Education

Secondary school level; further logistics or aviation compliance training desirable.

Experience

Minimum 3 years’ experience in an aircraft maintenance or airline environment; or Minimum 5 years’ experience in a regulated stores/logistics environment.
