We are seeking a highly motivated Financial Planning Analyst to join our Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team. This role is ideal for someone with emerging experience in financial planning—especially within mortgages—who is eager to develop their analytical capabilities and grow within a dynamic, fast-paced environment. You will play a key support role in delivering accurate financial forecasts, analysis, and reports that inform critical business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial forecasts and performance reports
- Assist with the maintenance, development, and execution of financial planning models, and perform scenario sensitivity analysis using Anaplan
- Analyse asset portfolio performance and other key retail banking metrics to provide actionable insights
- Prepare variance analyses comparing actual results against forecasts and budgets
- Support the development of dashboards, reports, and data visualisations for senior management
- Maintain and update key financial datasets, ensuring data accuracy and integrity
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Treasury, Risk, Product and Change
- Assist in process improvements to enhance planning efficiency and data quality
- Perform ad-hoc analysis to support business initiatives and strategic decision-making
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- A relevant degree discipline such as Finance and Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Risk or Business
- Experience working with (or strong interest in learning) Anaplan or other financial planning software
- Strong numerical and analytical skills; with high attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
- Strong Excel skills
- Proactive and keen to learn about specialist banking and Commercial Finance
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Financial services, particularly in banking, lending, or mortgage markets
- Professional accountancy qualification (CIMA, ACA, ACCA), or desire to study towards a qualification
