Chetham’s School of Music is seeking a Sports and Activities Coach to join the internationally renowned specialist music school located in city centre Manchester. Chetham’s is a magical place, home to the UK’s largest specialist music school, the oldest library in the English speaking world and a world-class concert venue all in the heart of Manchester.

We are looking for an inspiring and reliable Sports and Activities Coach with experience of working with children and young people to provide fitness instruction and sports activities to students aged 8 – 18 years. This is a permanent position, working 20 hours per week during term time, with some evening and weekend work required.

You will:

  • Organise extra-curricular activities and lessons which address the needs and interests of our children and young people.
  • Devise a range of games and activities which encourage the students to have fun, whilst maintaining a level of fitness.
  • Promote wellbeing and coordinate trips and excursions which enrich student experience.
  • Take charge of the opening and closing of the school gym in the evenings and some weekends, supervising the students while using it.
  • Teach some PE lessons.
  • Lead on sports club with the juniors.

In return, the salary is SCP 31 £17,999.63 per annum (£41,075.55 FTE). Benefits include subsidised lunches during term time, on-site gym and free tickets to selected concerts.
