South West Yorkshire Partnership Foundation Trust are recruiting for a Specialty Doctor to join the Psychiatry Intensive Care Unit (PICU) based at Fieldhead Hospital, Ouchthorpe Lane, Wakefield. Walton PICU Ward is a 14-bed adult psychiatry intensive care unit (PICU) based at the Unity Centre, Fieldhead Hospital in Wakefield. Qualifications

  • MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.

Eligibility

Essential

  • Fully registered with the GMC and have a licence to practise or be in a position to have a licence to practice on commencement in the post.
  • Spent a minimum of four years (full time or equivalent) in postgraduate training in the UK or equivalent medical experience, of which at least 2 years in psychiatry.
  • Approved under S12 or able to achieve within 6 months of appointment to enable to join the middle tier rota.
  • At least 6 months experience in acute care pathway.

Desirable

  • In good standing with GMC with respect to warning and conditions on practice.
  • Experience in forensic psychiatry is desirable. Equivalent experience is acceptable if appropriate competencies can be demonstrated and with agreement of the medical director.
  • Experience working in other medical specialties including general medicine, geriatric medicine and A&E.
