Job Summary
37.5 hours per week. The role will cover both the Calderdale and Kirklees CAMHS Eating Disorder Team and the developing ARFID pathway. The successful candidate will offer assessments and interventions for young people. Opportunities exist to develop services for local populations and receive training. As a Band 6, you will further develop clinical skills and knowledge by providing care coordination and intervention for complex cases.
Responsibilities
- Provide assessment and treatment to children and young people with mental health needs.
- Work autonomously and collaboratively within the MDT, providing consultation for other agencies/professionals.
- Work as part of CAMHS first on‑call rota.
- Promote the safeguarding and welfare of children and young people.
- Provide routine and urgent assessment and interventions to young people with a wide range of emotional and psychological problems.
- Apply evidence‑based practice with supervision from a senior clinician within professional guidelines.
- Support the ongoing process of delivering a comprehensive CAMHS system.
- Provide assessment, interventions and therapy to children and young people with severe—complex and persistent mental health problems.
- Apply a sound knowledge of safeguarding children and guidelines in clinical work.
- Act as a committed high‑quality patient care provider, manage own caseload and provide sustained effort in complex family issues.
- Operate within the clinical and case management supervision framework.
- Provide training, consultation and supervision to other service providers and junior staff as required.
- Participate in development, audit and review of this service provision.
- Work as part of the CAMHS on‑call rota as required, including flexible hours (24/7).

- Post‑registration qualification (degree).
- Post‑graduate qualification in mental health (e.g. CBT, family therapy, counselling).
- A teaching and assessing qualification.

- Substantial post‑qualification experience with children, young people and their carers.
