We are looking for an experienced Educational Mental Health Practitioner to join the Kirklees Mental Health Support Team, covering schools and colleges in the Kirklees area. The role involves managing a caseload of young people with mild to moderate mental health conditions, delivering evidence‑based interventions, providing training and workshops, and supporting clinical supervision.
Responsibilities
- Assess and support children and young people (CYP) with mental health difficulties, including triage, consultation and low‑intensity CBT interventions.
- Provide case management and clinical skills supervision to trainee/EMHPs.
- Facilitate evidence‑based group interventions for CYP and/or parents.
- Offer specialist mental health consultation, advice and guidance to professionals.
- Coordinate clinical care, safeguarding and risk management within the Multi‑Disciplinary Team.
- Develop and review care plans, conduct risk assessments and set goal‑based outcomes.
- Deliver training workshops to schools, parents and carers.
- Monitor and evaluate service delivery, identify improvement opportunities and collaborate with partner services.
Qualifications
- Registered Well‑being Practitioner (PWP, CWP or EMHP); or Registered mental health practitioner (NMC or HCPC); or Registered social worker; or KSA equivalent accreditation.
Training and Experience
- Substantial post‑qualification experience working with children, young people and their carers in a mental health or community setting.
- Experience in Primary Care, MHST Services or CAMHS.
- Experience managing caseloads of CYP with moderate mental health needs.
- Experience in assessment, risk management and evidence‑based practice, including CBT.
- Experience delivering training to diverse audiences and providing clinical supervision.
- Experience working collaboratively with partner agencies and in educational settings.
