Working in the Central Production Unit and Dining Room at Kendray Hospital, we are looking for enthusiastic catering staff for two 20‑hour posts on a rota basis, including weekends and bank holidays. The role involves providing safe, nutritious meals to patients, staff and visitors, and supporting special events.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals to the required standard, using fresh ingredients.
- Assist in the preparation of functions and special events.
- Adhere to Food Hygiene General Regulations, HACCP system and NHS cleaning standards.
- Carry out cleaning duties and maintain hygiene of the dining area.
- Work as part of a team, prioritise and organise daily duties, and use initiative.
- Handle cash and clear post‑meal areas, observing health and safety policies.
- Provide efficient service for meetings, lunches and functions.
- Work on other Trust sites if required to support smooth operation.
Key Result Areas
- Prepare meals for patients, staff and visitors to the required standard.
- Work effectively with the team to develop catering services.
- Assist in other areas of the department, as directed by the Catering Supervisor.
- Travel to other Trust sites when required.
- Develop personal skills to support departmental objectives.

- Ability to undertake the duties and demands of the post with a satisfactory sickness record over the past 2 years.
