Prestwick Golf Club was formed in 1851 and inaugurated the Open Championship in 1860. The Championship was subsequently played at the Club a further 23 times. A world-famous private members’ Club with a storied history, who prides itself on employing a high performing team of people to ensure a world class level of service is offered to Members and Guests.

Prestwick currently has a vacancy for a Golf Operations Manager to join our team on a fixed 12-month Maternity Cover.

The Role

Reporting to the Secretary, this role will play a key part in supporting the successful delivery of many aspects of the Club’s operation including:

  • the member and guest experience
  • dormy house operation
  • social media
  • membership
  • competitions & events
  • handicapping
  • and much more!

With the Club celebrating its 175th year in 2026, this is a varied and exciting role that would be ideally suited for someone looking for experience at a prestigious Club. The successful candidate should have a good knowledge of the game of golf, through past experience in golf administration. As there will be significant contact with Members and guests, excellent interpersonal skills are essential. While not a requirement, an interest in the traditions and history of golf would be advantageous.

This is a full-time, fixed-term (12-month) position offering a competitive salary based on experience. In addition, a pension scheme and other benefits, such as golf course access, meals on duty and 30 days holiday (including public holidays) are available.
