Tandridge Golf Club is one of Surrey’s premier golf clubs with a strong reputation for excellence, financial stability, and member service.

We are seeking an experienced and qualified accountant to oversee the Club’s financial management and support the General Manager and Board with accurate financial reporting and strategic financial guidance.

The Role

Reporting to the General Manager, you will take responsibility for the Club’s day-to-day and strategic financial management.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant seeking a flexible part-time role within a prestigious private members’ club.

The successful candidate will attend the Club approximately 1–2 days per week and provide ongoing financial support to the Finance Director and Board as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts.
  • Trial balance reviews.
  • Management of prepayments and accruals.
  • Budget preparation, monitoring and forecasting.
  • Production of ad hoc financial reports and analysis.
  • Cash flow management and reporting.
  • Statutory & Regulatory Compliance
  • Preparation and submission of VAT returns.
  • Liaison with external auditors.
  • Preparation of annual accounts.
  • Companies House compliance and filings.
  • Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and financial regulations.
  • Payroll & Pensions
  • Oversight and processing of payroll.
  • Management of pension payments and compliance.
  • Staff fund payroll administration where applicable.
  • Membership & Banking Administration
  • Oversight of subscription runs and Direct Debit collections.
  • Bond repayment administration.
  • Banking relationships and liaison with financial institutions.
  • Monitoring and reconciliation of payment systems and swipe card transactions.
  • Operational Support
  • Providing financial guidance to management and committee members.
  • Assisting and supporting finance administration staff.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement of financial systems and controls.

Person Specification

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Significant experience in financial management, management accounting, and budgeting.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll, VAT, and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Excellent Excel and financial systems skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience within hospitality, leisure, golf clubs, member organisations.
  • Experience working with subscription-based businesses.
  • Knowledge of Direct Debit collection systems.
  • Experience supporting Boards or Committees with financial reporting and analysis.
