Are you a European or American board certified (ECVS/ ACVS) surgeon looking for your next challenge? Chestergates Veterinary Specialists are looking for a dynamic individual to join our incredibly friendly and supportive Specialist-led hospital. This is an opportunity for an individual to work in an established referral hospital in the North West of the United Kingdom alongside a fantastic team where the culture is second to none.

The ideal candidate will be an excellent team player able to contribute to the culture of the hospital whilst maintaining our high clinical standards. We have an exciting opportunity for an ECVS/ ACVS Diplomate to join our expanding team. This will be the right position for an experienced colleague able to cover both orthopaedics and soft tissue surgery. We would welcome applications from individuals looking for a Head of Surgery position, but this is not a pre-requisite.

The successful candidate would be working closely with other experienced colleagues, residency trained clinicians or Specialists in imaging, cardiology, neurology, anaesthesia, soft tissue surgery, oncology, medicine, ophthalmology and orthopaedics. You will have access to all the expected state-of-the-art equipment, including a 1.5 Tesla MRI, CT, x-ray, ultrasonography and fluoroscopy. Supported by a highly qualified and experienced nursing team, radiographers and a chartered physiotherapist you will have an interesting and varied caseload and can benefit from the support of experienced colleagues throughout the wider CVS group.

We are also an educational partner with the University of Surrey and have a team of rotating and specialist interns. We also have first opinion colleagues on site and work closely with them in a collaborative and supportive way. ChesterGates Veterinary Specialists is a CVS multi-disciplinary referral centre. The hospital is located just outside the City of Chester and offers excellent transport links to major cities including London, Birmingham, Glasgow & Edinburgh. Liverpool and Manchester airports are both nearby and offer convenient access to domestic and international destinations. Cheshire is a beautiful county and lies within easy reach of the coast, mountains and other areas of outstanding natural beauty such as Snowdonia, the Lake District, Yorkshire Moors and Peak District.

To be successful you will be:

  • Diplomate status able to cover both soft tissue surgery and orthopaedics
  • Current RCVS registration (MRCVS)
  • Eligibility to work in the United Kingdom
  • Excellent English language communication skills
