An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the North Derbyshire Children’s Community Continence Service. We are a small friendly team which is the lead provider for the Countywide Continence Service who supports children and young people aged 4-19 years in the community to achieve their continence potential. We are looking for a registered Children's Nurse who has a passion for continence and strives to make a difference to children and young people’s incontinence needs. Applicants need to possess excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills whilst working independently and as part of a team. The post is for 4 days a week.

Main duties of the job:

  • This role is to provide specialist clinical knowledge to support Children and Young People to reach their continence potential within community continence clinics across North Derbyshire.
  • This will involve working independently with support/guidance from a multi-disciplinary (MDT) as required.
  • You will be required to work collaboratively with all agencies to promote health, education and well-being of children with continence care needs.

Person specification:

Qualifications and Training:
  • 1st level Registered Children's Nurse
  • Post registration/graduate diploma or equivalent experience in related work area, to demonstrate advanced level of practice
  • Evidence of qualification to undertake the supervision, teaching and assessing of students
  • Children’s Nurse Advanced communication course
  • Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD) relevant to the clinical area at specialist level of care
  • Leadership training/qualification/experience
  • Non-Medical prescribing
Experience:
  • Significant, relevant (post registration) experience with two years or more in speciality area
  • Experience of working with Children and Young People
  • Ability to conduct nurse led clinics
  • Facilitate and support learning
  • Awareness of Quality Assurance/peer review process
  • Management and leadership experience
  • Working with CYP in the community
  • Evidence of leading a change project
  • Experience of quality assurance/peer review process
  • Experience of caring for children and young people with complex bowel and bladder conditions
