An opportunity has arisen for a CAMHS Eating Disorders Mental Health Practitioner post to work as part of the CAMHS Eating Disorders Team.
The post holder will be a key member of the team offering family based care to children and young people in the community and the paediatric ward, liaising with all agencies involved with care.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate care, team meetings and MDT meetings for children and young people, and join supervision structures and offer consultation to CAMHS colleagues.
- Be responsible for the coordination and delivery of care for children and young people referred with eating disorders.
- Provide first line management and leadership to the team ensuring that care is of the highest standard and delivered in accordance with Policies and Procedures.
- Be proactive in ensuring the efficacy of the CAMHS Eating Disorder (CED) care pathway and the shared paediatric / CED pathway, influencing service development with the support of the CED Team Lead.
- Act as a senior clinician assessing the psychological, social and physical factors relevant to the care of the mental health of children, adolescents and their families experiencing severe eating disorders, planning, implementing and managing family based interventions in keeping with National Guidelines.
- Present a professional image and promote a positive image of CAMHS and the Trust to service users, carers and the community as a whole.
Qualifications
- Registered practitioner, RMN, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker or Clinical Psychologist.
- Experience working with children or adults who experience eating disorders.
