The team at Chesterfield Royal Hospital is committed, in collaboration with our MDT colleagues, to providing a patient-focused service to those who need our care.
You will be working under the guidance of an established and supportive team of qualified Occupational Therapists and other therapy support staff within the services.
The post involves working with patients in a range of daily activities to improve functional independence in preparation for their discharge from hospital. There is a significant administrative component to this role to ensure the smooth operation of the department.
We welcome applications from individuals with excellent written and verbal communication skills, who demonstrate flexibility, initiative, and the ability to prioritize workload in a busy environment. The successful candidate will also possess excellent interpersonal skills and a team-oriented attitude.
Flexibility to cover other wards as needed, in line with service requirements, is required. There is a commitment to supporting 7-day services, so weekend work on a rota basis may be necessary.

We are seeking applicants with experience in caring roles and an understanding of the physical, cognitive, and emotional needs of patients experiencing an acute hospital admission, and how these may impact their discharge.
Applicants should have excellent communication skills, demonstrate flexibility and initiative, and be able to prioritize effectively in a busy setting. The ability to work as part of a team is essential to provide an effective and efficient service.
IT skills are required, as the service uses electronic patient records. Experience in a healthcare setting is advantageous but not essential.
You should demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and an alignment with the trust\’s PROUD to CARE values.
Flexibility to assist with coverage on other wards will be required, depending on service needs.
