Role Overview

This new position provides an exciting opportunity to develop a broad range of people‑management skills, covering employee relations, pay and benefits, recruitment, and employee wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day‑to‑day management and development of the People & Culture Team.
  • Work closely with key stakeholders such as Payroll, Finance, Quality, Workforce Development, local trade union representatives, and wider college management on a variety of people issues.
  • Produce HR‑related data and KPIs to support decision‑making.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of UK employment law and best practice.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience producing HR data and KPIs.
  • HR management experience, ideally within Further Education.

Benefits

  • 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year.
  • 41 days paid holiday per year (increasing to 46 days after 5 years).
