An exciting opportunity has arisen for an innovative, forward thinking Mechanical Engineer to join our growing Engineering team. We are flexible with our delivery and have a strong team with an array of engineering skills and experience so aren’t specific in the specialism required for this role but the successful candidate must have a strong understanding of an engineering discipline and be adaptable to complement our existing team to deliver a range of engineering subjects to our apprentices and full time learners in Chesterfield College.

You will have access to various workshops as necessary and you will also have access to and access to a range of classrooms to support with delivering a high standard of teaching. You will also have access to our brand new state of the art Advanced Manufacturing Building which will be ready for use from February 2026.

As you gain experience and become more comfortable in the role there may be an opportunity to work across our sites in Chesterfield and Derby.

Applicants should hold at least a Level 3 qualification in engineering (however a HNC/D would be an advantage), have a manufacturing/maintenance background and varied experience in the engineering sector. The successful applicant will be required to deliver both workshop and theory sessions in engineering up to Level 3 for Apprentices and full time students.

We work closely with a number of local employers and deliver across multiple areas within the Engineering sector, specialising in Manufacturing, Maintenance, Fabrication & Welding and Design.

Teaching experience/possession of a teaching qualification and assessor award would be advantageous but not essential as training will be provided to the correct applicant. It is our vision for this new member of the team to enhance our current delivery and contribute towards developing a curriculum that meets the needs of our local employers.
