An opportunity has arisen to join the Student Experience and Wellbeing team in the role of Specialist Learner Support Assistant for Adults. This new role will help to make learning more accessible for our adult students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities. This will be through writing support strategies, meeting basic funding requirements and providing learning support both in and out of the classroom. This may involve some evening work to support those on our evening classes.

Requirements

  • Do you have a sound understanding of a range of disabilities?
  • Are you competent in recommending reasonable adjustments and learning strategies?
  • Are you comfortable using basic technology?
  • Are you good at working with individuals or small groups to help develop study skills, whilst adapting to any learning barriers?
  • Can you adapt your written and spoken communication to match the needs of different audiences, such as colleagues and students?
