Job Description:
An experienced, enthusiastic Apprenticeship Work Based Tutor will mentor, coach, and assess students for Chesterfield College with an emphasis on Autocare Technician and Motor Vehicle Service & Maintenance Technician – Light Vehicle Apprenticeship Standards learners. The successful candidate will manage a caseload of learners through their Apprenticeship Standard, carry out workplace visits providing coaching, mentoring and assessment for successful completion of their chosen qualification. They will work with the learner/employer and internal departments to ensure Functional Skills and all elements of the apprenticeship are completed to ensure timely success for the Learner. The applicant will be responsible for the whole learner journey including advice and guidance, enrolment onto the correct programme of learning, delivery and employer liaison.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of learners through their Apprenticeship Standard.
- Carry out workplace visits providing coaching, mentoring and assessment.
- Work with the learner/employer and internal departments to ensure completion of all elements of the apprenticeship.
- Ensure timely success for the Learner.
- Provide advice and guidance, enrolment onto the correct programme of learning, delivery and employer liaison.
Qualifications:
- Occupational competence in the qualifications detailed above.
- Hold the Assessors A1 Award (TDLB D32/D33) or TAQA 301 Award, and be willing to work towards the V1 Award (TDLB D34) TAQA 401 Award.
- Training/Teaching/Basic Skills qualifications would be an advantage, although not essential.
- Excellent communication, IT skills and a professional outlook.
- Flexibility to work additional hours when required and undertake substantial travel.
