Chesterfield Borough Council is looking for enthusiastic and customer-focused individuals to join our Private Sector Housing Team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering housing assistance and Disabled Facilities Grants, helping vulnerable residents access the adaptations and improvements they need to maintain their independence.
- managing Disabled Facilities Grant applications
- undertaking means-tested financial assessments
- recommending grants and loans for approval
- monitoring works on site and authorising payments
- supporting the delivery of housing assistance programmes, including essential home repairs and energy efficiency improvements
- visiting residents in their homes to assess needs and identify suitable solutions
- working collaboratively with contractors, occupational therapists and partner agencies to ensure projects are delivered to a high standard and within agreed timescales
We're looking for an individual who: - have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- enjoy working directly with customers and building positive relationships
- can manage a varied workload and work independently
- have strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- share our values and commitment to delivering excellent services to residents
- hold a valid driving licence and have access to a vehicle for business use
