Chesterfield Borough Council is looking for a dynamic and strategic leader to take on the role of Head of Housing Management—a pivotal post with responsibility for delivering outstanding housing services to over 8,800 council tenants. This is a key leadership role within our Housing Directorate, with a wide-ranging portfolio that includes:

  • Tenancy management and neighbourhood services
  • Tenancy sustainment and housing support
  • Estate management and enforcement
  • Tackling anti-social behaviour and promoting safe, thriving communities

You’ll lead a dedicated team of around 60 FTE through five direct reports, manage a £4 million revenue budget, and ensure services are responsive, inclusive, and aligned with our wider strategic goals.

What we’re looking for:

  • A proven track record in housing management leadership within a social housing or local authority setting
  • Strong knowledge of the Regulatory Framework for Social Housing, with a passion for tenant voice and engagement
  • Demonstrable expertise in service transformation, team leadership, and performance improvement
