We are Chester Zoo. We’re a major wildlife charity committed to the recovery of endangered species and conservation globally. We are looking for an outstanding Business Reporting Analyst to join the Finance team, reporting to the Business Reporting Partner.
Responsibilities
- Support the Business Reporting Partner in providing site-wide reporting by collecting and managing data to generate meaningful management information, reports and dashboards.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to capture and report data in a timely and accurate manner to inform management decisions and deliver operational benefits.
- Design and develop clear, accurate and reliable management information to enable analysis, insight and decision making, supporting achievement of key outcomes and business objectives.
- As new commercial systems are rolled out, develop reporting to meet daily operational needs and improve business intelligence.
- Work with the Business Reporting Partner and Systems and Business Information Accountant on data-driven projects, enabling the Executive team to provide accurate information to the Board of Trustees and other groups on a periodic basis.
- Primarily use Microsoft Power BI and SQL; monitor data quality and integrity across the organisation and establish clear standards.
- Document in-house databases/datasets (e.g., data dictionaries) to help users identify the right data sources for reporting operational requirements such as Gift Aid.

Package
- Permanent contract, 40 hours per week.
- Salary: £30,750 - £32,725 depending on experience.

Requirements
- A sound working knowledge/experience of SQL (including CTEs, subqueries, joins), advanced Excel, and data visualization tools (preferably Power BI).
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft packages and other desktop software.
- Methodical thinker with the ability to view data logically and holistically.
- Strong collaborative skills; able to understand user needs, advise on solutions, manage expectations and build relationships at all levels.
- Ability to work on concurrent projects with tight deadlines.
- Strong project management, organisational and time-management skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy are essential.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical and evaluative skills.
Desirable
- Relevant experience in a leisure, retail or hospitality environment would be an advantage.
