Join the Operations Team at Chester Race Company as a Race Day and Event Steward. We’re recruiting enthusiastic Race Day and Event Stewards to join our team for the 2026 race season at Chester Racecourse and Bangor-on-Dee Racecourse. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in delivering safe, memorable experiences across an exciting calendar of race days and events.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet and welcome guests upon arrival
  • Check and validate tickets
  • Serve as the first point of contact for general enquiries
  • Carry out car park stewarding duties, ensuring the safe entry and exit of vehicles
  • Monitor and maintain crowd safety at all times
  • In the event of an emergency or evacuation, follow safety procedures and guide guests to exit the venue safely

What We’re Looking For:

  • A friendly, approachable, and professional attitude
  • Strong guest experience skills
  • Confidence communicating in conversational English
  • Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure
  • Desirable qualifications include Level 2 Spectator Safety and First Aid at Work

This role requires you to be over the age of 18.

Mandatory Training: As a mandatory requirement of this role, you will undertake training in Level 2 Spectator Safety within 12 months of working with us.

Pay Rates (inclusive of holiday pay):

  • £14.03 per hour to increase to £14.60 from April 1st
  • £14.65 per hour to increase to £15.25 from April 1st (Level 2 Spectator Safety qualification obtained)
