Chester Race Company are recruiting Event Stewards for the 2025 race season at Chester as well as Bangor-on-Dee racecourse! Race days and events are truly something spectacular to be a part of! This role is exciting and varied, you’ll work racing andother events at the racecourse as well asprestigious venues across the region and further afield!

About Chester Race Company:
Chester Race Company Ltd is one of the North West’s best-known and most-admired brands. It is an evolving organisation with a broad portfolio but retaining Horseracing at its core. The Company operates three racecourses, Chester, Bangor-on-Dee and Musselburgh, in Scotland. At Chester, we also own and operate – a hotel, a vibrant pub and have other property interests in the city. Not to mention our in-house caterers, Horseradish and our staffing brand – Thyme People. With that much diversity in our business, no two days are the same!

General responsibilities include:

  • Welcoming guests to the venue
  • Checking tickets
  • Acting as a first point of contact for general enquiries
  • Car park stewarding – Ensuring the safe access and egress of vehicles
  • Monitoring crowd safety
  • In the event of an emergency / evacuation you will follow safety protocols & direct guests to exit the venue safely

The successful Event Steward will have the following:

  • A friendly, approachable, and professional manner
  • Strong guest experience skills
  • Confident in conversational English
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Desirable Qualifications areL2 Spectator Safety, First aid at work

As a mandatory requirement of this role you will undertake training in Level 2 Spectator Safety within 12 months of working with us.

Our rates of pay(All rates are inclusive of holiday pay)

18+ £14.03 per hour
Leading to £14.65 per hour (Level 2 Spectator Safety qualification obtained)


Shift availability:

Our shifts vary! You are in control of the hours you work via our staff app.
Shifts will be predominately evenings and weekends.
