About Chester Race Company

Chester Race Company Ltd is one of the North West’s most iconic and respected organisations. While horseracing is at the heart of our heritage, we are an evolving organisation with a broad portfolio. We proudly operate three racecourses – Chester, Bangor-on-Dee, and Musselburgh in Scotland – and our reach extends further with a hotel, a vibrant pub, and several property ventures in the city of Chester. Our in-house catering brand, Horseradish, and staffing division, Thyme People, also play a central role in our success. With such a dynamic mix of venues and services, no two days are ever the same.

General responsibilities:

  • Leading teams to deliver excellent service across bar and retail areas
  • Overseeing event set-up and clear-down to company standards
  • Acting as the main point of contact on the day, resolving guest and operational issues
  • Delivering staff briefings and supporting teams throughout events
  • Managing stock, tills, PDQs and cash handling in line with procedures
  • Liaising with Area Managers to ensure smooth event delivery

What We’re Looking For:

  • Supervisory or management experience in bar, catering or events
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to motivate teams and create a positive working environment
  • Ability to recognise high-performing team members and support their development

This role requires you to be over the age of 18.

Pay Rates (inclusive of holiday pay):

  • Supervisor - £17.78 per hour
  • Manager - £21.10 per hour

Position is dependant on requirements for the shift, but you have potential to work in either.
