We’re looking for experienced and reliable Kitchen Porters to join Chester Race Company for the 2026 season. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced kitchen environment and being part of exciting live events, we’d love you to work with us. This is a varied and rewarding opportunity supporting an outstanding programme of events — from race days at Chester Racecourse and Bangor-on-Dee Racecourse, to weddings, private celebrations, festivals, and nationally televised awards and shows. You’ll work at prestigious venues across the region, playing a vital role in keeping our kitchens running smoothly as part of our expert catering teams.

General Responsibilities
- Supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the kitchen during events and service periods
- Washing dishes, cookware, and utensils using commercial dishwashing equipment
- Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene across all kitchens and back-of-house areas
- Assisting the kitchen team with basic food preparation for lunch and dinner services
- Working as part of the wider catering team to support efficient service delivery
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in a kitchen or catering environment is desirable
- A positive, enthusiastic attitude with a willingness to learn
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Strong awareness of cleanliness, hygiene, and safe working practices
- Reliable, hardworking, and a strong team player
Pay Rates (inclusive of holiday pay)
- £9.57 per hour (ages 16-17) to increase to £9.85 from April 1st
- £14.03 per hour (ages 18+) to increase to £14.60 from April 1st
