Are you a passionate and dedicated Supervisor / Manager looking for a fast-paced and rewarding role? Do you enjoy coaching teams to deliver the highest standards in Hospitality, Bar and Retail environments? Chester Race Company are recruiting for the 2025 race season and many more events all year round! This role is exciting and varied, you’ll work events at Chester Racecourse, Bangor-on-Dee racecourse, as well as the opportunity to work many other events such as weddings, private events, festivals, national televised awards and shows – all at prestigious venues across the region.

General responsibilities can include:
- Ensure that room set ups and break downs for all events are carried out to company standards
- Deal with customers in a prompt and professional manner
- Address any complaints effectively
- Deliver staff briefings for events
- Ensure the security of the premises, stock, and cash, following the company cash handling procedures
- Record open and close stock counts, monitoring levels of stock and liaising with the cellar team
- Follow the management pack to log any wastage or report incidents
- Responsible for use of tills and PDQs
- First point of call for dealing with issues on the day and liaising with the area manager
The successful Bar Supervisor / Manager will have the following:
- Previous experience in Bar / Retail / Catering Events in a Supervisor / Manager capacity
- The ability to empower and lead a team
- Ability to build relationships and promote a positive work environment
- Ability to identify strong team members and recommend upskilling
Our rates of pay (inclusive of holiday pay):
18+ £17.08 - £20.27 per hour, dependant on experience
Shift availability:
Our shifts vary! You are in control of the hours you work via our staff app. Shifts will be predominately evenings and weekends. There is however an expectation that you work as many of the Chester Race Days as possible. A fixture list is viewable online.
