We’re looking for an organised and proactive Kitchen Stores Assistant to join Chester Race Company for the 2026 season. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced kitchen environment and being part of exciting live events, we’d love you to work with us. This is a varied and rewarding opportunity supporting an outstanding programme of events — from race days at Chester Racecourse and Bangor-on-Dee Racecourse, to weddings, private celebrations, festivals, and nationally televised awards and shows. You’ll work at prestigious venues across the region, playing a vital role in keeping our kitchens running smoothly as part of our expert catering teams.

About Chester Race Company & Horseradish Catering

General Responsibilities
- Receive and check all food deliveries, ensuring accuracy and maintaining high quality standards
- Organise and distribute deliveries to designated areas across the racecourse (electric buggies provided)
- Replenish kitchen stock throughout the day as required
- Manage fridges, freezers, and dry storage areas, including stock rotation, date checks, and maintaining cleanliness
- Assist with stock takes and inventory control
- Support food distribution on race days, ensuring kitchens are fully stocked when needed
- Collect and maintain HACCP records in line with food safety standards
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate records
- Assist in monitoring food costs and pricing
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience working within a kitchen environment
- Excellent organisation and communication skills
- Able to act on instructions quickly
- Competent with data inputting, using word and spreadsheets
- Driving licence essential
Pay Rates (inclusive of holiday pay)
£14.03 per hour (ages 18+) to increase to £14.60 from April 1st
