Hiring Salary: $16.26– $21.68/hour

General Statement of Job Duties

Under occasional supervision, performs routine clerical and customer service work as required to help ensure effective and efficient office operations and the proper billing and collection of customer payments.

  • Performs general clerical work as required, including but not limited to entering and retrieving computer data, typing correspondence and reports, copying and filing documents, preparing and processing daily mail, etc.
  • Receives and responds to customer inquiries, concerns and complaints regarding services and billing.
  • Receives, receipts and processes consumer payments, fees and deposits; totals daily receipts and balances cash drawer.
  • Prepares billing adjustments as needed.
  • Assists with preparing delinquent account lists, printing delinquent notices, crediting accounts to bad debt file, collecting bad debts, etc.
  • Prepares service cut-off and cut-on orders, and other general work orders.
  • Processes service application and disconnection requests.
  • Answers the telephone; provides accurate information to callers and/or forwards calls to appropriate personnel; greets and assists office visitors.

Requires high school diploma or GED equivalent supplemented by one year of in-person cashiering and/or customer service experience. Ability to deal with stressful situations. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general computer skills required. Basic math skills required. Experience with data entry, cash handling, and typing accuracy is a plus.
