Chester Football Club is seeking a part-time Goalkeeper Coach to join our First Team staff ahead of the 2026/27 season. This is an exciting opportunity to work within an ambitious full-time National League North environment, supporting the development and performance of goalkeepers across both our First Team and U19s programme as the club continues to build on and off the pitch.

Working closely with the First Team Manager and wider coaching staff, the successful candidate will play an important role in developing a clear goalkeeper pathway throughout the club while contributing to a high-performance environment.

The Role
  • Plan, deliver and review goalkeeper training sessions aligned with the club’s playing philosophy across both the First Team and U19s programme.
  • Work closely with the First Team Manager and wider coaching staff to support the integration and development of goalkeepers throughout the club pathway.
  • Provide technical, tactical and psychological support to goalkeepers.
  • Deliver pre‑match warm‑ups and support on matchdays when required.
  • Analyse performances and provide individual feedback and development plans.
  • Support the transition and progression of young goalkeepers into the senior environment.
  • Assist with the recruitment and identification of goalkeeping talent when required.
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
  • Has previous experience coaching goalkeepers within a senior, academy or elite youth environment.
  • Holds a recognised FA or UEFA goalkeeping coaching qualification.
  • Demonstrates strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
  • Is organised, proactive and committed to continuous professional development.
  • Shares our ambition, professionalism and commitment to player development.
