About Us

Chester Aid to the Homeless (CATH) has been supporting people experiencing homelessness and vulnerability since 1972. Through our day centre, accommodation services and partnership work, we aim to provide practical support, dignity, and meaningful opportunities for individuals to move towards greater stability and independence.

We are now seeking an experienced, values-driven Services & Partnerships Manager to help lead and develop our frontline services.

The Role

This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing our day services and accommodation provision, while also playing a key role in developing and maintaining strong partnerships across statutory, voluntary and community sectors. The successful candidate will lead a committed staff team, ensure high-quality service delivery, and work directly with clients when required. You will balance strategic oversight with day-to-day operational involvement, ensuring services are effective, safe and responsive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and line management to staff working across day services and accommodation
  • Oversee the day-to-day operational delivery of services, maintaining high standards of care and support
  • Work directly with clients where needed, supporting complex needs with a compassionate, practical approach
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with partner agencies, commissioners and local stakeholders
  • Contribute to service development, continuous improvement and partnership initiatives
  • Participate in the shared on-call rota and respond to operational issues as required
  • Ensure services comply with organisational policies, safeguarding standards and relevant legislation

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working within homelessness, housing, social care or related community services
  • Is comfortable balancing leadership responsibilities with hands-on client and operational work
  • Has strong people management and communication skills
  • Can build effective internal and external partnerships
  • Brings a positive, solution-focused attitude and a commitment to service excellence
  • Is organised, resilient and confident working in a busy frontline environment
  • A full driving licence is essential.
