A family run garden centre is looking for a full time Delivery Driver with a class 2 HGV licence. Duties will include driving our HIAB, tipper or van to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of company products to our customers, manually loading and unloading the delivery vehicle and providing support in other areas of the business when needed.
We are looking for someone who is well presented with excellent customer service skills as this is a key customer facing role. You must also be willing to perform other site duties when deliveries are quiet; this could be anything from moving stock, loading containers or ensuring areas are clean and tidy. Previous experience in counterbalance forklift driving would be an advantage.
The ideal candidate needs:

- To be an active hands-on team player with excellent communication skills
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Class 2 HGV driving licence
- HIAB crane licence desirable but not essential
- Ability to complete a wide ranging set of tasks within a set time period; ability to work under pressure
- Forklift licence beneficial but full training will be provided
- Ability to use T20 and other equipment safely
- Ability to complete other tasks within the business during quieter periods
The Responsibilities include:
- Supporting the team as instructed including the safe and efficient delivery of company products
- Liaising with customers to keep them informed on progress
- Ensuring the delivery vehicles are driven and maintained in accordance with current legislation and Company Policies
- Making sure the delivery vehicles are loaded and unloaded safely and correctly
- Daily care of the Company vehicles including cleanliness and maintenance
- Completion of daily vehicle inspection forms
- Assisting on site with stock control & storage; moving stock where required
- Assisting with loading or unloading of delivery vehicles as instructed
- Daily care of the department including cleaning & ensuring all storage areas are safe & secure
