We are looking for an experienced Consultant that specialises in ICT Managed Services and Solutions. You will join our growing team of Consultants at Chess ICT to support our different sales teams in aiming to retain and grow our Managed Services and Support business. You will bring a strong, consultative process to the sales lifecycle by offering your technical and commercial knowledge to enhance the Chess Sales experience.

Responsibilities, not limited to:

  • To work across the different Sales and Services teams to define Managed Service solutions for our customers (New Business and Contract Renewals).
  • To directly engage with customers and capabilities within the business to propose and design services across the full portfolio of managed and professional services.
  • To provide sales support and collaboration with the technical teams, as required throughout the sales lifecycle.
  • To assist in developing and configuring Managed Service solutions across our solution areas of Connect, Cloud, Devices, Modern Workplace and Security, including more complex and cross-solution area deals.
  • Engage directly with customer stakeholders, TAs, and Services Team to validate service requirements, explore solution options and to identify service integration requirements.
  • Define Managed Service solutions that meet agreed requirements.
  • Work closely with our TA and Services Teams to realise service and solution estimates in accordance with Chess Commercial governance.
  • Identify all service costs and populate cost models accurately to ensure an accurate estimation of delivery costs over the term of the contract.
  • Create and document a solution plan engaging internal stakeholders as required.
  • Support to identify and mitigate solution risks.
  • Participate in major bid reviews, covering scope, approach, costs, and risk.
  • Present the solution approach and methods to client stakeholder groups.
  • Support the development of deal specific pricing and commercial strategies and commercial modelling.
  • Manage sales development activities, proposals, demos, presentations.
  • Draft the solution elements of contracts and participate in contract negotiation, where required.
  • Plan for and support service implementation, service transition and service introduction activities.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with Chess Sales Leadership, Operations, Service Delivery, Projects, Commercial and Technical teams.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with relevant 3rd party service suppliers and partners.
  • Research new products to upgrade/enhance standardised Managed Services solution offerings.
  • Support with the go-to-market strategy, marketing events and supporting collateral design.
  • Work closely with the commercial team, play a key part in client and vendor discussions – designing, expanding or closing opportunities.
  • Assist in vendor management in relation to business review meetings, target tracking, accreditation evaluation and reporting.

The Candidate:

  • Strong skills in relationship management: ability to establish, maintain and manage strong working relationships with colleagues, partners, suppliers, and senior customer personnel.
  • Communication: demonstrate a structured and considered approach to written and oral communication and presentation.
  • Negotiation: ability to articulate a reasoned argument on potentially complex issues.
  • People Management: experience of working with (virtual) teams and mentoring individuals against their assignment goals, demonstrable capability to motivate individuals and drive high performance teams.
  • Technical: Experience and knowledge of Service Introduction, Service Delivery and Service Management (in a Managed Services or Outsourcing context), including:
    • Competency in Solution Planning methods.
    • Competency in Infrastructure and Application Managed Service delivery techniques.
    • Competency in key aspects of Service Management, Service Transition and Service Delivery Management.
    • Competency in key aspects of Service Integration.
    • Experience of implementing Service Solutions against ITIL standards or equivalent.
    • Experience of managing service partners and subcontractors.
    • Experience of service, financial, quality, risk, and adoption change management methods.

Hours: A standard week is 37½ Monday to Friday.

Working location: Flexible, hybrid working position. This is a flexible hybrid position; however, you will be required to attend Chess hubs or customer sites as requested in advance by your leader. These visits will be scheduled with reasonable notice and are considered an essential part of your role to support collaboration, customer engagement, and team alignment.
