Field Engineer (North West)
We’re looking for an experienced Field Engineer ideally based in the North West to join our growing Professional Services team.
Location: Hybrid/Remote with Travel Requirements within the North West | Business Area: Professional Services | Salary: Up to £37,000 dependent on experience (plus car allowance)
Reporting into the Field Engineer Deputy Team Leader, the Field Engineer will join a high performing and skilled team, providing a high standard of service to our customers.

The Role:
- \”Visiting client sites to troubleshoot and resolve issues that cannot be resolved remotely
- Performing Hardware and Software installations on customer sites
- Ability to work Independently and Collaboratively
- Ensuring customers are updated as to the progress of their request / issue
- Maintaining agreed SLA’s, updating ticket information as you work from diagnostics through to resolution
- Liaise with third party and vendors to resolve incidents with root cause analysis
- Assist with mentoring colleagues where applicable in line with escalation procedures\”
The Candidate:
Experience:
- Have strong, proven troubleshooting and technical Support Skills
- Have excellent experience of both Windows and Apple desktop operating systems.
- Have excellent knowledge of:
- Windows Server Operating Systems installation, configuration and administration
- Active Directory deployment / design and administration including Group Policy
- Exchange Server support and administration
- M365 configuration and administration
- Microsoft Azure / Entra ID
- Intune and Endpoint management
- Understanding of Public, Private and Hybrid Cloud environments
- Remote Desktop Services and Azure virtual desktop
- Administration of virtualisation platforms including VMware & Hyper-V
- Networking (LANs & WANs) including servers, switches, firewalls, routers etc.
- Firewall, network topologies, infrastructure and VPN Technologies including SSL services
- Wireless networking technologies and troubleshooting Qualities
Qualities:
- Personable, well-presented, and excellent verbal and written communication
- Full driving license with access to a car
- Customer focused and pro-active with regards to fulfilling the clients’ requirements / expectations
- Prepared to work out of hours for potential customer requirements (additional benefits offered)
- Good time and workload management skills
- Conscientious, well organised and customer focused
- Display a willingness to make decisions; exhibit sound and accurate judgement and include appropriate people in the decision-making process

Salary details:
Up to £37,000 dependent on experience (plus car allowance)
