Join our Group Finance team at Chess! We are on the hunt for a skilled Purchase Ledger Accounts Assistant to bring expertise and energy to our finance function. Reporting directly to the Purchase Ledger Team Leader, you will be part of a dynamic team with diverse backgrounds in both practice and industry. Key Responsibilities- Coding and posting purchase invoices into Sage 200 and via our AP software (V1)
- Coordinating supplier statement reconciliations
- Managing the collation of invoices from different sources and distributing for authorisation
- Supporting supplier queries
- Posting of bank transactions, including supplier and customer allocations
- Along with further general account duties
- Ability to plan and prioritise workload efficiently and successfully perform duties under pressure
- Strong attention to detail
- Clear understanding of accounting basics
- Great knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Ability to work well independently and within a team environment
- Knowledge of Sage 200 preferred, but not essential
Up to £26,000 per annum depending on experience, plus additional benefits.

A standard week is 37 hours Monday to Friday. This is a home-first position, giving you the freedom to work remotely while staying connected with the team. You will spend one day each week (Tuesday) at our Alderley Edge hub, collaborating face-to-face and sharing ideas. In addition, you will have access to our network of local hubs across the UK, with occasional ad-hoc travel to other group offices or locations as needed.
