We’re looking for an organised and enthusiastic individual to join our hub at Alderley Park. You’ll support the smooth day-to-day running of the office environment, ensuring a professional, welcoming and efficient workplace for all people and visitors. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone organised, proactive, and keen to build experience across office management, facilities, and culture.
Please note this role is full-time office-based at our Head Office at Alderley Park.
Office Operations- Oversee daily office operations, ensuring a clean, safe, and fully functional environment
- Maintain office supplies and equipment, ensuring consistent availability
- Act as the first point of contact for office-related queries
- Manage bookings for all Chess Hubs across the UK
- Act as a Fire Marshall and First Aider (Full training provided)
- Coordinate incoming and outgoing post, parcels, and courier deliveries
- Liaise with Chess office and hub landlords, external suppliers and contractors for maintenance and service issues
- Log and track facilities requests and follow through to resolution
- Support contractor visits and ensure compliance with site processes
- Welcome visitors and ensure a professional, warm reception experience
- Coordinate visitor access, parking, and meeting arrangements on site including the monthly board meeting
- Maintain accurate records (e.g. assets, access passes, car registrations)
- Actively support with activities and administration required for the cultural team
- Support with project management of all Chess events, including conferences and Christmas parties
- Support compliance with health & safety standards and policies
- Assist with risk assessments, fire drills, and incident reporting
- Ensure office signage and safety procedures are up to date
- Administration of annual workstation assessments via our One LMS
- UK Driver's License and access to a vehicle
- Basic IT skills (Microsoft Office/Teams)
- Previous experience in an office, hospitality, or customer-facing role
- Experience supporting events or facilities management (even informally)
- Positive attitude with a willingness to help others
