Job Purpose: Your responsibilities include driving vehicles and working with the crew to collect all waste and recycling as directed, providing a high-quality, cost-effective service on behalf of Cheshire West Recycling.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • To create a good working relationship with managers, supervisors, and other colleagues, working as part of a team and, if required, independently, and to follow our Health & Safety procedures and existing regulations regarding vehicles, sites, wearing of uniform and PPE as issued.
  • To ensure that when driving, all daily vehicle checks are carried out and that the vehicle is driven in a safe and courteous manner, and that the vehicle always remains in legal tolerance.
  • To ensure all operational work is carried out to a high standard and to the satisfaction of your supervisors.
  • To ensure that all allocated works are completed within the notified timescales and that you attend morning and end of day debrief.
  • To support the crew by updating the PDA tablet during the working day, ensuring that any waste/recycling not presented at the allocated point is recorded.
  • To act and behave in line with Our Values.
  • To ensure that all duties are carried out correctly and safely when loading waste/recycling and spillage are cleared up immediately.
  • To support other crews as directed by your supervisor to ensure services are completed on time.
  • To ensure you carry out and record any routine maintenance, daily checks, defect reports and vehicle washing.
  • To support in achieving our business objectives and complying with all procedures in line with the ISO accreditations.
  • To undertake relevant training as part of your role.

NOTE: From time to time, you may need to undertake work as determined by your supervisor up to or at a level consistent with your role. Crews generally operate Monday to Friday with the occasional weekend working. Cheshire West Recycling operates across several locations, and you will be expected to work flexibly across all locations in line with business requirements.
