We are working with a well-established, global engineering consultancy looking to expand its UK infrastructure team with the appointment of a Principal Civil Engineer. This role sits within a growing Highways & Water division, offering the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership and play a key role in delivering and developing infrastructure projects across the UK.
The Role
- You will take a leading role in the delivery of highways and water infrastructure projects, supporting both technical delivery and team development.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of highways and water infrastructure schemes
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
- Support projects through all stages, from concept through to detailed design
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across infrastructure sectors
- Ensure designs are compliant with relevant UK standards and regulations
- Engage with clients and stakeholders as required

Candidate Requirements
- 10–20 years’ experience in civil engineering
- Strong background in highways and water infrastructure
- Proven experience delivering UK-based infrastructure projects
- Strong knowledge of UK design standards (e.g. highways and water frameworks)
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or working towards
- Consultancy experience
- Experience working on large or multidisciplinary infrastructure projects
