About the Role
Our client, a leading organisation in the energy and infrastructure sector, is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer or Senior Electrical Engineer to join their growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the design, development, and delivery of LV electrical and electrification systems across a range of utility, grid, and infrastructure projects, including frameworks with National Gas and National Grid.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering safe, reliable, and compliant LV electrical designs, ensuring technical excellence and alignment with recognised industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver LV electrical designs including SLDs, load assessments, earthing layouts, and protection schemes.
- Support the design, coordination, and implementation of electrification and power distribution systems.
- Prepare and review technical specifications, design documentation, and drawings to industry and client standards (BS 7671, IEC, ENA, NEC, NGTS).
- Undertake feasibility studies, risk assessments, and site surveys to support project planning.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary design teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure project integration and compliance.
- Participate in design reviews, HAZOPs, and constructability assessments throughout project delivery.
- Provide technical input during installation, commissioning, and handover stages.
Key Requirements
- Degree (or HNC/HND) in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in electrical design, LV systems, or E&P engineering.
- Strong understanding of BS 7671, IEC, ENA, or NGTS standards.
- Proficient in Amtech, Dialux, and AutoCAD (or equivalent).
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple priorities.
- Previous experience within utilities, energy, or infrastructure projects preferred.
Desirable
- Working towards or achieved Chartered Engineer (CEng) status.
- Familiarity with National Grid / National Gas frameworks.
- Experience with HV/LV interface, substations, or sustainable infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of design governance, CDM regulations, and quality assurance processes.
