Technical Safety Expert

The scope of work includes services rendered by a senior Technical Safety / Process Safety professional and includes the following activities (but not limited to):

• Facilitation and conduction of workshops HAZID, HAZOP, SIL Assessment, LOPA, Risk Assessment and ALARP demonstration;

• Supervision of externally contracted quantitative and qualitative risk studies (QRA, FERA, EERA, ESSA, TRIA);

• Spot modeling of accident scenarios with PHAST software (fires, explosions, toxic and flammable gas dispersions);

• Incident investigations and Root cause analyses

• Development and review of Safety Cases and regulatory documentation;

• Engineering verification (design review, document review, calculations, technical specifications);

• Verification of compliance with EU Directives (PED, ATEX) and IEC standards (61508/61511);

• Technical support for audit, due diligence, peer review and technical assurance activities;

• Interface with certification bodies, regulatory authorities and Independent Verification Body (IVB);

• Activities in the field of asset integrity, operational risk management and change management.

1. Execution of Activities:

The activities will be carried out mainly at the Contractor's premises.

Meetings, workshops and reviews can be carried out remotely or at the Company's and/or Contractors' offices.

2. Required skills:

The professional figure must meet the following requirements:

• Minimum of 25 years' experience in the Oil & Gas or Energy industry;

• Proven experience in Technical Safety, Process Safety and Risk Management;

• Experience in Subject Matter Expert roles;

• Experience in facilitating complex risk workshops;

• In-depth knowledge of international standards (API, ISO, IEC, DNV, NFPA);

• Experience with UK/EU regulations and Safety Case regime;

• Chartered Engineer and Functional Safety Engineer qualifications preferred;

• Experience with international operators and EPC Contractors.

• ALARP demonstration and HSE documentation;

• Incident investigation and root cause analysis reports

• Engineering verification reports and technical notes;

• Expert opinions and decision support;
